Over 400 signatures collected in Chisinau against violence against women
Over 400 people signed against violence against women at an event that occurred on 31 August in Chisinau's downtown. Viorel Barbanoua from Amnesty International Moldova, an organizer of the event, has told Info-Prim Neo the signatories wanted to eradicate the violence both in Moldova and abroad.
They signed on two petitions: one notifying on the case of 13-year-old girl from Iran, who was condemned to death. The signatories undersigned for their solidarity with the victims of violence in Georgia, on the second petition.
According to Viorel Barbanoua, the signatures will be sent to the Iranian, Georgian and Russian authorities, one of these days.
The signatures against violence against women are collected in all the countries where there are Amnesty International offices. The action took place in front of the Organ Hall in Chisinau.
