More than 800 service members of the National Army during April 6-12 were involved in activities to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, patrolling public areas and recreation places in the municipalities of Chisinau, Bălți and Cahul, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry of Defense.
Over 600 service members patrolled together with the police, while about 70 officers and soldiers with 11 vehicles monitored and supervised the movement of persons and transport at fixed points set up at entrances and exits of Soroca and Ştefan Vodă towns and of Carahasani and Talmaza villages of Ştefan Vodă district, which are in quarantine.
Teams of soldiers disinfected post offices in Chisinau and blocks and dorms where service members live with their families and took part in works to lay out the triage center COVID-19 at “Moldexpo”.
Also, 600 healthcare workers of national strategic medical institutions were taken to work and then back home by units of transport of the National Army.
The Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense provided assistance to about 200 persons with symptoms of COVID-19.
