The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office completed the investigation into the case in which the former Minister of the Interior Gheorghe Papuc is accused of abuse of power with serious consequences, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office. Gheorghe Papuc was familiarized with the materials of the case so that it can be remitted to court. Gheorghe Papuc was investigated outside prison, but is banned from leaving the country. The former minister pleads not guilty. The prosecutors accuse him of paying the rent for several rooms of the sanatorium ”Constructorul”, which were used by the Botanica District Committee of the PCRM, and for the maintenance of a car belonging to the Ministry of the Interior that was used by the Communist parliamentary group. The damage caused was estimated at about 829,000 lei.
