The construction of a large parking garage under the Central Market in Chisinau could start this year. The announcement was made at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau services and divisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. When discussing the strategy for systematizing the Central Market, the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked municipal officials to pronounce on this proposal that was submitted by an investor. The investor presented already the building project. The director of the municipal Central Market Ion Stratulat said the strategy envisions the construction of namely a parking garage. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said the strategy for systematizing the Central Market is being finalized, but more time will be needed if the underground parking garage is to be included in the document. The City Hall will submit the building project to the Chisinau Council for consideration at one of the next meetings. The Council is to also discuss the relocation of the Central Bus Terminal to the North Bus Station as the Ministry of Transport asked that the bus terminals be moved outside the city. A relevant proposal will be ready in 1-2 months.
