In a ceremony held on the occasion of the Independence Day, diplomas of honor and diplomas of the first degree of Parliament and the Democracy Medal were conferred on a group pf personalities who achieved remarkable results in different areas of activity and contributed to promoting the image of the state, culture, development and reforms, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the legislature.
Among the laureates are academicians Nicolae Dabija and Ion Ababii, Master of Sport Petru Caduc, doctors Tatiana Ghidirimschi and Galina Roșca, ambassador Victor Moraru, professors Ludmila Ursu and Maria Suceveanu, and musician Alex Calancea.
“They are the heroes of the Republic of Moldova who day by day by their actions help the country to develop. They are the heroes of the day who helped the Republic of Moldova to be more independent and richer. We are grateful to them for their accomplishments,” said Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu.
The Parliament awards were instituted in 2017.
