The National Agency for the Cult of Heroes will be responsible for the organization and coordination of the keeping of records, identification and documentation of war graves and memorials. The draft law to institute the new authority was passed by Parliament in the final reading on Jul 20, IPN reports.
The agency will also deal with the organization of events to commemorate those killed in battle, victims of World War I and World War II, of the Nistru war of 1992 etc.
The law creates the national legal framework and regulates the work of public associations that look for graves and remains of soldiers killed in battle.
The National Agency for the Cult of Heroes will be set up based on the Center of Military Culture and History of the Ministry of Defense.
