The MPs adopted an amendment proposed by MP Simion Grishchuk, of the European People’s Parliamentary Group, which includes the notion of “rural house” in the legislation on tourist activity, IPN reports.
The rural house is described as a privately owned tourist accommodation unit that can also serve food and is created based on a house that meets the traditional architectural style (regional, zonal or local), has a capacity of at most three rooms that can accommodate at most ten persons, is intended for serving tourists by the host family based on the people’s living, working and recreational traditions. The food offered by the rural house is made from products grown by persons from the community or from neighboring communities.
Another passed amendment supplements the legislation with a new chapter, on rural tourism.
Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu said the vote in Parliament will encourage the Government to hasten the approval of the necessary regulations so as to develop rural tourism.
