Parliament takes break to pronounce on journalists’ access to assembly hall

A break of an hour was announced practically at the beginning of the March 3 siting of Parliament. The Standing Bureau is to decide whether the journalists will be allowed to enter the assembly hall. Representatives of media NGOs and journalists are protesting, seeking access to the sittings, IPN reports.

After discussing with a number of journalists, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu announced a break until 11:40am. Meanwhile, the Standing Bureau will meet to pronounce on the issue.

Since the legislative body started to sit in the renovated building, the members of the press have followed the plenary sittings online, in a separate room. The photographers have limited access to the sitting hall because some of the MPs opposed being photographed in the work process.
