The Parliament's secretariat has launched a tender for the purchase of four Skoda Superb vehicles, which will be used to serve the official delegations coming to the Republic of Moldova. The cost of the new acquisitions is of 2.1 million lei, and the expenses will be paid with the institution’s savings, which constitute this year 20 million lei. The information was communicated at a press conference by the Secretary General of the Parliament, Adrian Albu, IPN reports.
According to Adrian Albu, at present cars are rented for serving delegations. There are 57 transport units in the Parliament garage, of which only 40 serve MPs, secretariat employees and official delegations. The others are not used. But the ones used are old, dangerous on the route and involve huge maintenance costs, says Adrian Albu. Only 10 of them are not completely worn out, having an operating period of up to seven years.
The Secretary-General has also said that 18 cars made in 1997 will be put up for sale through auction, as they can only be used as spare parts for other cars.
As for the purchases made by the former management of the Parliament's secretariat, Adrian Albu mentioned that in 2017 a Skoda Superb vehicle was bought for 620 thousand lei, and another in 2018 for 583 thousand lei, also a Skoda Superb.
According to Adrian Albu, with the same savings the IT equipment of the Parliament's secretariat will be renewed. The institution has in its possession 610 computers. Of these, 71 are obsolete, are kept in storage areas and have to be recycled. Other 252 have been in operation for seven years and need to be changed because they no longer cope with the tasks.
