Pavel Filip: Prices of medicines could be decreased by 9%

Prime Minister Pavel Filip said there are preconditions for cheapening medicines by 9%. In the opening of the February 28 meeting of the Cabinet, the Premier said the leu has appreciated against the U.S. dollar and the prices of products and services should thus decrease.

“I refer first of all to the prices of about 1,400 names of medicines that we expect would be decreased,” stated Pavel Filip.

The Premier instructed the Agency for Medicines and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to next week present a profound analysis of the situation and the list of drugs whose prices will be decreased, IPN reports.
