Pavel Filip: System must serve people

“The system must serve the people. This is the main principle on which public administration must be based. The public administration system should be improved so that the public functionaries have the best professional training and are appropriately motivated,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in a meeting of the National Council for the Public Administration Reform that centered on the progress made in the public administration reform so far and the objectives for the immediate period, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the Premier stated that the public administration reform is a strategic priority of the Government on which the successful implementation of other related reforms envisioned in the Moldova –EU Association Agenda and the Agreement with the IMF depends.

The whole process is conducted based on the public administration reform strategy for 2016-2020. In this connection, the members of the National Council for the Public Administration Reform examined three main issues: the plan of action for 2016-2018 for implementing the public administration reform strategy, the State Register of Local Public Administration Documents and modernization of public services.

A State Register of Local Public Administration Documents will be created to ensure transparency in the decision-making process at all the levels of public administration. This will ensure unlimited and free access to such documents for public authorities, people and the business community.
