Pavel Grigorciuc to stand trial

Pavel Grigorciuc faces a fine or a maximum of five years in jail for hooliganism committed in recidivistic condition. The investigation was completed and the case was sent to court, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, this March the accused verbally insulted MP Sergiu Sârbu in the central park of Chisinau. He later slapped him across the face and continued to insult him in the presence of colleagues of the MP and other persons. The MP was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The 29-year-old defendant five years ago was fined after he beat and insulted a German citizen in a public place in Chisinau, damaging also property. He refused to pay the fine.

He was also convicted for public disorder and use of violence at the Prosecutor General’s Office in September 2016. Then, the young man and another six persons were tried for organizing, managing and taking an active part in illegal activities and for calling for violent disobedience of the legal requests of the representatives of the authorities. Pavel Grigorciuc was then given a four-year suspended sentence .

Since 2014 until present, he was fined in four cases of hooliganism, insulting and other violent acts. The fines haven’t been yet paid.
