A 38-year-old man from Chisinau was hit by a car while crossing the street near a crosswalk in Ciocana district on June 19. He died on the spot as a result of the received injuries. Aurelia Mija, PR inspector of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened on Alecu Russo St not far from Saint Trinity Hospital, at about 9pm. According to the police, the driver aged 62 said he did not see the man. He had the documents in order and was not under the influence. It has not been yet announced at what speed the driver traveled. As many as 187 pedestrians were involved in road accidents this year so far. Seventeen of them were killed.
