Pensioners and disabled persons entitled to free tickets for therapeutic rehabilitation
Once in three years, first and second-degree invalids, pensioners and welfare recipients who are not employed will be able to request free tickets for therapeutic rehabilitation under a regulation recently adopted by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Social Protection Minister Valentina Buliga said the need to adopt a new regulation and develop a new mechanism for distributing rehabilitation tickets was dictated by changes in the labor and social assistance legislation in the last seven years.
A discount of 70 percent on the tickets will be offered to the persons accompanying a disabled person that is deemed incapable of taking care of himself/herself unassisted. The same discount is offered to first and second-degree invalids who are employed.
Discounts of 30 percent will be offered to the recipients of age pensions, invalidity pensions and social benefits who are employed or self-employed.
Beneficiaries will be entitled to money compensations if they refuse to use the ticket.
9,000 rehabilitation tickets valued at 29 million lei will be offered in 2010. A total of 71 million lei are allocated from the 2010 Budget for the therapeutic rehabilitation and recovery of different categories of persons, including veterans and disaster relief volunteers.
