The multiple cyberattacks staged on hospitals in Romania made the National Center for Personal Data Protection to warn about the risks of experiencing similar situations in Moldova as well, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Center said the institution made an approach to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection of Moldova and sent a notice to the National Health Insurance Company and the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, reiterating the necessity of ensuring the security and confidentially of the personal data that are processed in an automated way in the health sector.
The National Center for Personal Data Protection also requested the competent institutions to take measures to comply with the obligations set down in Law No. 133 concerning the protection of personal data with the aim of preventing a similar cyberattack.
