PGO takes legal action against Gheorghe Cretu

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) started a criminal case against the former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu. He is accused of accidentally shooting 34-year-old Sorin Paciu during hunting in the reserve “Padurea Domneasca” on December 23, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the PGO, the case started against Gheorghe Cretu will be examined by the Exceptional Cases Division of the Prosecutor General’s Office. It was ordered withdrawing the case from the Falesti Prosecutor’s Office, which was opened on December 25, 2012 over the accidental shooting of a person during hunting, so as to ensure the objective, operative and multilateral examination of this case and the special status of the subject of the offense. The results of the complex, ballistic and histological examinations are being expected from the National Forensic Examinations Center of the Ministry of Justice. The tragic accident that happened during hunting on December 23 was made known only on January 6, when politician Sergiu Mocanu in a news conference accused Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko of killing Sorin Paciu. The prosecutor rejected the accusations in an open letter to the press.
