Tender.health - an open platform that enables to analyze the data on government procurement in healthcare for combating COVID-19 – was launched on May 8, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the platform was launched on the initiative of representatives of civil society. It enables to view and interpret information about centralized procurement procedures, separate acquisitions for medical institutions, supplies, categories of products, prices and others.
The data on the platform will be updated weekly.
Constantin Charanovschi, of the public association “Positive Initiative”, said the platform will be useful for procurers as it will help to swiftly identity suppliers with the best prices and also for civil society so as to see how efficiently the procurers use the public funds.
The information about contracts and invoices is presented in tables and graphics.
In the same news conference, the minister said the isolation containers donated by the Romanian side will be used for patients with COVID-19 and also in other situations, when necessary. “We appreciate Romania’s gesture, including the provision of these containers for the health system,” stated Viorica Dumbrăveanu.
Nicolae Furtună, director of the National Public Health Agency, said the utilization of isolation containers is not mandatory and each state decides on their use. Romania donated to Moldova ten isolation containers that are used to transport patients in a very serious state.
