PM Filat invites EU Energy Commissioner to Chisinau
Prime Minister Vlad Filat has sent a letter to EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger inviting him to Moldova. Following the agreements reached at a meeting in March, the Moldovan prime minister thus presented to the EU Commissioner a formal invitation to participate in the 9th ECT Ministerial Council session, that is planned to take place in Chisinau on October 6, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Government's press service quoted PM Vlad Filat as saying that this visit will be an additional opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between the EU and Moldova in the field of energy. The prime minister noted that Moldova’s accession to the Energy Community Treaty has offered Moldova many useful models and instruments to speed up the harmonization of the national legal and institutional framework with the EU's relevant standards.
Vlad Filat also reiterated his recognition for the assistance offered by the European Commission to Moldova in developing a sustainable and modern energy sector.
