PM Vlad Filat to receive Freedom Award
Prime Minister Vlad Filat will be conferred the Atlantic Council Freedom Award alongside U.S. Senator John McCain, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and leaders of democratic movements in Belarus and Egypt, the Government has said in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The Freedom Awards will be presented in the 2011 Global Wroclaw Forum that will take place in the Polish town Wroclaw. The 2011 Global Wroclaw Forum will bring together over 200 politicians and renowned representatives of business circles. It will center on the role of Central Europe as a strategic partner of the U.S. in the efforts to strengthen cooperation between the United States and Europe at economic, political and security levels.
Among the Freedom Award holders are former NATO Secretary General and EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, and ex-President of Poland Alexander Kwasniewski.
