The police are investigating 23 persons aged between 19 and 60, who are suspected of forming part of a criminal group specialized in making and selling opium. Six of these persons have been already indicted, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the criminal group was headed by a woman aged 50 from Vatra town. The group had worked for 10 years. It had been tracked for three months with the infiltration of policemen under cover and with making nine control purchases of narcotic substances. The manufacturing units were based in Anenii Noi, Bubuieci and Vatra, where the plants were cultivated. Ten searches were carried out at the homes of the group members as a result of which there was discovered optimum estimated at about 200,000 lei and 35,000 lei earned from selling drugs. Between 50 and 80 drug users and intermediaries bought optimum from the group daily. It was established that the group earned a daily income of 25,000 lei from selling drugs.
