Police carry out raids at four Chisinau casinos

Four Chisinau casinos working in the absence of the required documents were subject to inspections. In the morning of June 5, police officers and employees of the special police brigade “Fulger” in balaclavas established that the casinos didn’t pay taxes of over 600,000 lei into the state budget, IPN reports, quoting the Chisinau Police Division.

The casinos didn’t have cash registers and officials documents showing that the gaming machines were used legally. The police also found drafts about the collected sums of money.

The 50 gaming machines were seized. It was later established that 11 of them had been used for over 10 years, which is illegal. The casinos belong to a family from Chisinau. Each of the members of this family own shares in these casinos.

A criminal case over tax evasion was started. The culprits face a fine of 60,000 to 100,000 lei or up to six years in jail.
