The police arrested five young men from Chisinau who are suspected of beating two persons in a park in the capital city and stealing their laptop worth over 6,000 lei. Adrian Jovmir, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the incident happened in “Serghei Lazo” Park in Chisinau’s Botanica district late in the evening. The five suspects are aged between 18 and 21. They are investigated for theft and face up to four years in jail and a fine of 6,000 to 20,000 lei or community service. Another robber stole laptops from buses at the bus terminal. He followed the passengers and deprived those inattentive of the computers. The thief managed to leave the bus before the victim discovered the loss. The suspect arrested by the police is 27. He is suspected of stealing at least two laptops. One of the laptops was found at his home, while the other one was probably sold.
