Police deny political factor in attack on Communist MP Ina Supac
The three girls that robbed the Communist MP Ina Supac were detained shortly after they committed the offense, the head of the General Police Commissariat's press office Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo. The police deny the existence of any political factors in this case.
The incident happened on the central Boulevard in Chisinau on Wednesday, November 4. Two of the detained girls are minors and were taken to the Ministry of the Interior's Center for Minors. The third girl is 18 and is a student of a vocational school. She is held at the remand center.
The police established that the girls drank a bottle of vodka before the robbery. Before attacking the Communist MP, they tried to rob another woman, but did not manage to.
Ina Supac said the girls knocked her down and kicked her. They stole her identification papers, including the MP's permit and the diplomatic passport. The MP told the reporters it might be political settling of accounts.
A witness succeeded in catching one of the minors. The other two robbers were identified shortly afterward in Alunelul Park.
The three girls are not from Chisinau. They live temporarily at the Center of Rehabilitation for Teens. They are liable to up to six years in jail.
