A 53-year-old man was detained and subsequently placed under arrest for 30 days on suspicion of murdering a woman in Basarabeasca. The murder was committed two months ago. The suspect acknowledged his guilty.

According to a police press release, the crime took place on the night of October 1. It was initially assumed that more people would be involved. Subsequently, the police established that the murder was committed by a single person, as a result of a quarrel between the alleged murderer and the victim. The murdered woman was 63 years old.

The Basarabeasca Police Inspectorate initiated a criminal investigation for premeditated murder. If convicted, the suspect risks a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years or life imprisonment.

In another case, also in Basarabeasca, a 32-year-old man is suspected of murdering his concubine, a 40-year-old woman. The man was detained by law enforcement bodies.
