Police officer wounded from hunter’s gun in Ialoveni
A policeman was injured from a hunter’s gun last night in Ialoveni district. Chiril Motpan, head of the Ministry of the Interior’s Public Relations Division, told a news conference that the police officer was in the car with his girlfriend near a lake when an individual approached them with a hunter’s gun. The officer hit him with the door of the car. They started to quarrel and the man shot the policeman, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Chiril Motpan also said that the 25-year-old police officer was not on duty when the incident happened. After he was injured, he fired a pneumatic gun that he held legally at the attacker, but the latter managed to run away. The officer was operated and is now out of danger.
The official stressed that measures are being taken to identify the offender and they have enough proofs to arrest a person suspected in this case.
Asked by the journalists if the case is somehow related to the crimes committed earlier in Ialoveni and Durlesti, Chiril Motpan said they have a suspect in the two cases, but refused to give more details.
The bodies of a woman aged 18 and a man aged 31 were found in a car on the Chisinau-Ialoveni route last September. The two had been shot. A boy aged 18 and his 15-year-old girlfriend were discovered dead in a car near the monastery in Durlesti on April 1 this year. They also had gunshot wounds.
