A police officer from Calarasi is accused of taking €500 from a woman for not holding her accountable for begging, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the National Anticorruption Center, the criminal police inspector of the Causeni Police Inspectorate was arrested in the afternoon of April 10. Upon a search of his car, there was found a part of the taken money - €300.

A criminal case over passive corruption was started against the policeman. He is investigated on the outside.

The National Anticorruption Center so far this year investigated 11 employees of the Ministry of the Interior for different acts of corruption.
