An employee of the Râșcani Police Inspectorate was arrested on suspicion that he corrupted business entities selling at the market for not being held responsible for different deviations from the law, IPN reports.

According to the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service, the extorted protection task was 500 lei a month.

If he is found guilty, the policeman will serve three to seven years in jail, will be fined 200,000 to 300,000 lei and will be banned from holding public posts or performing a particular activity for a period of five to ten years.

There were also questioned other persons who partially admitted their guilt. They are investigated outside remand detention.
