The Polish Film Days CinePOLSKA 2015 start at the Odeon movie theater in Chisinau on November 6. Six new Polish films will be screened within the event that this year is entitled “Films about courage”, IPN reports.
CinePOLSKA begins with the film “The Gods”, which is about the famous surgeon Zbigniew Religa, who in the 1980s laid the basis of a heart transplant program in Poland by his own effort. Made by Łukasz Palkowski in a Hollywoodian style, the film won the top prize at the prestigious Gdynia Film Festival of Poland.
“Jack Strong”, made by one of the best action films director in Poland Władysław Pasikowski, presents the real story of Polish officer Ryszard Kukliński, who, wanting to save the world from World War III, transmitted secret documents from the Warsaw Pact to Americans, risking his life and the lives of his family members.
CinePOLSKA includes the screening of one of the most important Polish films of the last few years – “Warsaw 44”. It is an epic historical dram film about young fighters in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, when Poland was under German occupation.
The screenings within CinePOLSKA are organized by the Polish Institute in Bucharest and the Polish Filmmakers Association with the support of the Polish Film Institute and the Embassy of Poland in Chisinau, in cooperation with Moldova Film Studio and the Odeon movie theater. The films will be sown with Romanian subtitles. Entrance is free of charge.
