Aureliu Suhan resigned from the post of acting director of the National Administration of Penitentiaries in connection with the expiration of his term in office. He will further work at the National Anticorruption Center, where he served earlier, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Administration.
Aureliu Suhan had served as acting director of the National Administration of Penitentiaries for two years. According to the law, until a director is appointed the post is held by one of the deputies on an interim basis. Currently, the Administration has only one deputy director. This is Sergey Demchenko.
Under the law on the penitentiary administration system, the National Administration of Penitentiaries is managed by a director who is appointed and dismissed by the minister of justice.
