In solidarity with the people of Ukraine, Moldova’s Post Office has launched a postage stamp entitled “Moldova for Peace”. The print run for the stamp is 250,000 copies, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the company.
A number of 5,000 stamps were offered free to refugees and volunteers at Moldexpo Center and at other placement centers. These will be able to send letters with messages of support and encouragement to relatives, friends and the dear ones who remained in Ukraine.
“Moldova’s Post Office supports and stands by the people of Ukraine and thanks all the volunteers for their involvement and benevolence. We once again saw that humanity has no borders and that we are a helpful nation,” said the company’s manager Roman Cojuhari.
In Ukraine, there was put into circulation a stamp that celebrates the sinking of Moskva warship that was hit by two Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missiles, according to the authorities in Kyiv. The foreign press reported that the stamp depicting a Ukrainian soldier making an obscene hand gesture at the Russian Black Sea flagship Moskva has become a collector’s item for Ukrainians who see it as a sign of “victory”. At the central post office in the capital Kyiv, hundreds of Ukrainians of every age could be seen queuing for hours last Friday to get their hands on one of the one million copies printed so far.
