Premier suggests abandoning labeling in school buses case
Prime Minister Vlad Filat urged the journalists not to label the working group responsible for the organization of tender contests for the purchase of school buses for the Ministry of Education until the court pronounces on the issue, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Premier said the initiative to ask the Prosecutor General’s Office to launch an inquiry into the purchase of buses was put forward by him, following signals and materials that appeared in the press. During investigations, the Prosecutor General’s Office established that the Ministry of Education bought over 100 minibuses at a double price by several tender contests. A number of economic entities provided the working group with contracts for the sale of buses, where the market price of the buses is much lower than the price at which the buses were purchased by the Ministry of Education.
”This case will be sent to court, which will decide who is to blame. We should wait for the court decision first, not anticipate things,” said Vlad Filat.
He also said that the buses were bought with money offered by the World Bank and from the state budget and these resources were to be used efficiently.
