Premier Vlad Filat treated rudely by pensioners

Prime Minister Vlad Filat was treated offensively when he went out of the Government's building to speak to the protesting pensioners led by the NGO “Salvgardare” head Maia Laguta. The protesters demand that the executive takes steps to raise the pensions and annul the new tariffs approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) in September, Info-Prim Neo reports. In order to justify the behavior of the pensioners, Maia Laguta said they are hungry and sick and tired of hearing empty promises. After discussing with Vlad Filat, Maia Laguta said she will return to the Premier on Monday with documents showing that the tariff rises approved by the CMC are not justified. As to the increase in pensions, Filat said that the state budget for the next year is under formulation and there will be adjusted certain decisions. The Chisinau pensioners have staged over 10 protests against the rise in the water and sewerage charges and the exclusion of the pensioners from the list of persons who travel by buses and trolleybuses free of charge.
