President Igor Dodon signed a decree by which he ordered to engage the National Army in the provision of the support needed by the public order authorities in the supervision of the observance of the COVID-19 prevention measures by private individuals and legal entities in Moldova, IPN reports.

“Given the evolution and tendency of the epidemiological situation related to COVID-19 in Moldova, in a move to satisfy the request of the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health, I signed a decree by which I ordered to involve the National Army in the provision of assistance to the public order authorities in supervising the observance of the COVID-19 prevention and spread control measures by private individuals and legal entities,” President Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.

The army also helped contain the COVID-19 pandemic at end-March, when military vehicles patrolled different sectors of the capital city and roads in the country.
