The Florești District Hospital will house a Primary Stroke Center that will start work on July 15. The center will provide services not only for patients with stroke, but also for critical patients who previously had to travel to Chisinau for treatment, state secretary of the Ministry of Health Ion Prisăcaru stated at the inauguration event, IPN reports.
The investments in medical equipment rise to 15 million lei. For the first time, the online transmission of the patient’s clinical data to the Stroke Center will be launched.
Florești District Hospital director Ludmila Capcelea said that the institution is equipped with a computed tomography scanner and an X-ray machine. “As we will already have a computed tomography machine, we are designated by order of the Ministry of Health as a service provider for patients with stroke. Florești, Șoldănești and Camenca districts are the service area,” said the director of the institution.
Attending the event, President Maia Sandu said that the modernization of hospitals will continue. “We are glad that we have such modernization and such stroke centers because you know what the mortality rate is due to these health problems and we hope to be able to improve the indicators,” stated the official.
The national medical assistance service for patients with stroke consists of 13 centers, the Florești Primary Stroke Center being the seventh on the list. Another center will be opened on July 15 in Cahul.
