The projects financed by the Government of Romania headed by Victor Ponta have cumulatively a value of €250 million, which is almost ¼ of Moldova’s budget, contributing decisively to the country’s modernization and development, members of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of Romania said in a news conference held at IPN New Agency.
“I want to mention the project to build the gas pipeline that was implemented and will bring a lot of benefits to the citizens of Moldova. There was initiated the project to rehabilitate nursery schools and the program that led to the creation of the SMURD service, which will be developed by including it in the list of facilities that will be supported by the two sides through European funds,” said the head of the Vaslui County Council Dumitru Buzatu.
Another project financed by the Romanian state is the project to supply drinking water to 53 settlements in Ungheni and Nisporeni districts, which will benefit over 55,000 people. According to Victor Alexeev, who heads the organization of Romania’s PSD in Moldova, as a result of the implementation of this project, the residents of villages from the two districts will pay 4 lei per cubic meter of water, as against 30 lei in the neighboring district Calarasi.
“Victor Ponta’s actions as President of Romania will continue to connect Romania to Moldova by bridges that will start to be built next spring in Leova and Cantemir as well as in Ungheni. The bridge in Ungheni will be joined to the Iasi-Bacau-Brasov highway. So, there are projects that we must implement in concert. During the last two years, Prime Minister Ponta promoted these projects with an open heart, without pursuing evil or electoral goals. You thus must be proud that you are Romanians. Victor Ponta deserves to be voted in as head of state because he will symbolically unite the Romanians inside the country and will also strengthen the ties with our brother – Moldova,” said Adrian Solomon, a Social-Democratic lawmaker in Romania.
Victor Ponta is running in the presidential elections that will take place in Romania on November 2. The second round of the elections, if necessary, will be held on November 16. Twenty-one polling places will be opened in Moldova for the Romanian presidential elections, four of which in Chisinau.
