The prosecution service must be substantially reformed, not as until now, considers director of the Legal Resources Center Vlad Gribincea. Asked about the segments where action should be taken first and foremost next year, the jurist said it is important to ensure the mechanism for checking assets is functional. Measures should be also taken to ensure the transparency of the Superior Council of Magistracy and to specify the powers of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Prosecutor General’s Office, IPN reports.
Vlad Gribincea said in 2017 he wants the judges and prosecutors to be more open to society. Judges should be promoted based on merits and justice administration should be improved. The system should be also ridded of persons who do not deserve to form part of it.
