Prosecutor general and interior minister hold meeting
Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco and Minister of the Interior Victor Catan agreed that the police officers should contribute to an objective investigation of the April violent events.
The two officials met after a number of police officers expressed their concern about the fact that the prosecutors intend to star legal cases against them, the Prosecutor General's Office (PG) says in a communique, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The discussions were constructive and there were no divergences. The police officers could express their opinions at the meeting, the communique says.
More than 100 applications were lodged with the Prosecutor General's Office after the April events. There were opened 31 legal cases against police officers. The press reported that the policemen intend to stage protests against the pressure exerted on them by prosecutors.
