The heads of subdivisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office will have the status of senior prosecutor, as the Prosecutor General and his deputies, in accordance with the amendments to the Penal Code approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. MP Ion Plesca, the author of the legislative initiative, said the amendments are designed to optimize the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office, prevent delays in examining complaints and to reduce the workload of the deputy prosecutor genera in charge of prosecution. According to the lawmaker, the move is also aimed at making the subdivision heads more responsible.
