The police confiscated psychotropic weight loss pills worth about 150,000 lei, as well as proceeds from the sale of pills - over 300,000 lei and €5,000 - following searches carried out at the homes of five suspects in a drug trafficking case, IPN reports.

The suspects aged between 22 and 55 years are from Chisinau. The advertisements to sell the pills were published on an ad platform, without potential customers knowing that they also contained a psychotropic substance.

Furthermore, six parcels with such pills from Kazakhstan were seized during searches at a post office of Moldova’s Post Office, sent in the name of the suspects. The pills are to be examined, the General Police Inspectorate has said.

The defendants were placed under judicial control.
