The Public Amenities Division of Chisinau is ready to intervene with 60 units of transport in case of snow and sleet. The stores of antiskid material are being replenished with about 1,400 tonnes, the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, being quoted by IPN.

“Last week we received more antiskid material from the contractor. We currently have about 600 tonnes of salt, 60 tonnes of sand and 16 tonnes of chloride. The last 800 tonnes are to be delivered this week,” said Ion Burdiumov.

On December 10, the Division received the first three Hako pieces of equipment of those purchased this year. Another three pieces of equipment are to be supplied today and four more pieces will be delivered by Friday. Five vans bought this year for transporting waste from waste dumps placed near public stations are being registered.

A tender contest was held to purchase 90 manual salt spreaders for being distributed to the municipal housing sector managing enterprises that signed contracts for the removal of snow and glazed frost from sidewalks. The working group’s decision was challenged by a business entity that took part in the tender contest. Ion Burdiumov said the National Dispute Resolution Agency ruled in favor of the Public Amenities Division and rejected the company’s complaint as groundless. This way the contract was signed last week and the first 16 salt spreaders of the 90 will be delivered this week. The others will be shipped in the course of December.
