The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure said it was recently decided to close the section of the Taraclia-Cahul road between the villages Ciumai and Burlaceni owing to the snowstorm, IPN reports.

In connection with the unfavorable meteorological conditions, the Giurgiulesti International Freight and Passenger Port was also closed and the access of freight trains to Giurgiulesti was restricted.

Traffic is hampered mainly in the central and southern districts of Moldova, for which forecasters issued an orange code advisory for whiteout.
