The man who raped a girl in Chisinau’s Botanica district a year ago was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Prosecutor General’s Office says the sentence can be appealed to a higher court. Earlier, the man had been convicted of keeping drugs. When the offense was committed the victim was 23. The girl was returning from a nightclub. She was dragged to the back of an apartment building, where she was raped. The 34-year-old rapist was also obliged to pay 15,000 lei damages to the victim. The man maintains two underage children.
