The citizens can register for the twelfth edition of the DOR Government Program “Diaspora*Origins*Returns”. The Bureau for Diaspora Relations said the purpose of the DOR Program is to strengthen the emotional, cultural and identity ties of children and young people from the diaspora with their country of origin, the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
Participation in DOR is free. All the costs are covered by the state. The participants cover only travel expenses to and from the Republic of Moldova. Participants will be registered by May 28.
Citizens aged between 12-17 from the diaspora can enroll in the program. They must understand the Romanian language and be able to communicate at a basic level in it. Priority will be given to candidates who haven’t participated in the program before. The candidates from the Republic of Moldova must also be aged between 12 and 17 years and have competence in Romanian. In this case, too, priority will be given to those who haven’t participated in the program before.
The applicants from the diaspora must fill out a form. Those from the Republic of Moldova must apply by sending an email to dor@gov.md with the subject “Application for DOR Program 2024”. The file will contain a video of maximum 3 minutes with the subject “European Moldova”. A certificate with the last quarterly general average grade (for children and young people of secondary school age) or average grade in the specialized subjects (for young people of high school age or of centers of excellence) will also be attached. The certificates will be issued by the educational institution attended by the candidate. Proof of the spirit of creativity, openness, artistry or extracurricular performance – sports, artistic, intellectual, etc. - in the form of certificates, diplomas or other evidence is also required.
Applicants from the Republic of Moldova will be selected as a result of a competition. The applications will be evaluated by a joint commission of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations, the Alliance of Hometown Associations, the Ministry of Education and Research. Pre-selected children and young people will be invited to a discussion (online).
DOR is a Program dedicated to both children and young people from the diaspora and those from the Republic of Moldova and is carried out under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through the Bureau for Diaspora Relations.
