The Government approved regulation concerning the method of organizing selection hunting, IPN reports.

According to the authors of the regulations, selection hunting will contribute to improving the state of health of the hunted fauna and will maintain the animal reproduction quota by hunting sick animals and animals with evident behavioral deviations that do not meet the typical characteristics.

Classification criteria for selection hunting are set for such species as roebuck, common deer, roe deer, spotted deer and wild boar.  

Selection hunting is practiced in the presence of specialists of the Zoology Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and of the State Ecological Inspectorate.
