The remits of the local information offices of Moldova’s Parliament, depending on their geographic position, were set by an order made by Speaker Igor Corman, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Parliament’s press service, the Edinet Office will satisfy the requests of the people living in Balti municipality and the districts of Briceni, Donduseni, Ocnita, Edinet, Rascani, Glodeni, Soroca, Falesti, Drochia, and Floresti.

The people from Orhei, Telenesti, Sangerei, Soldanesti, Rezina, Ungheni, Calarasi, Straseni, Criuleni, and Dubasari districts will be able to go to the Orhei Office.

The Leova Office will provide assistance to the residents of the districts of Leova, Nisporeni, Hancesti, Anenii Noi, Cantemir, Cimislia, Ialoveni, and Causeni.

The Comrat Office will cover Basarabeasca, Taraclia, Cahul and Stefan Voda districts and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.

Igor Corman instructed the heads of the four local information offices to hold discussions with representatives of the local public authorities and inform them about the offices’ duty to strengthen parliamentary activity and their role in the interaction between the MPs and people.

The local offices in Orhei and Leova will start work in September. The opening of the Edinet Office will take place on September 2, at 10:30am. The Comrat Office is already open to the public. Starting with July 2016, the network of local information offices will be extended to cover the whole country.

The local information offices of Parliament are designed to facilitate the communication between Parliament and the people, to contribute to adopting decisions based on voters’ interests and to ensure a closer dialogue with civil society.
