The Ministry of Justice has announced a contest to choose two representatives of civil society to work on the Integrity Council. The people with higher education and with full competency, without a criminal past and with no bans on holding particular posts or performing particular activities, who are medically fit and know the Romanian language can file applications to take part in the contest to the Ministry’s Human Resources Division by October 31, 2016, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the candidates mustn’t have violated the legal regime of conflicts of interests, incompatibilities or restrictions, haven’t had unjustly obtained property confiscated, haven’t been party members during the last two years and haven’t performed political activities, haven’t been operational employees or secret agents of intelligence services, including informers of such services until 1991.

The file for taking part in the contest must be presented in person and must include the application, a CV, a letter of intent, copies of the identity card, of the university diploma and of the employment record book, an own responsibility statement concerning the meeting of conditions, criminal record, medical certificate, declaration of integrity, consent to having the personal data processed and a letter of recommendation.

The Integrity Council forms part of the National Integrity Authority, which is a new institution created as a result of the justice sector reform. The Council will choose the president and vice president of the Authority. The Council consists of seven members – one nominated by Parliament, one by the Government, one by the Superior Council of Magistracy, one by the Superior Council of Prosecutors, one by the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova and two representing civil society.
