Road maintenance cost state over 800m lei last year
A sum of 858 million lei was used from the Road Fund last year for maintaining roads, 27 million lei for designing works, while 55.7 million lei for purchasing machines and equipment. A report on the issue was presented by Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Anatol Salaru in the Cabinet’s meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the minister, 51.2 million lei of the Road Fund hasn’t been used because the Ministry of Finance transferred the money with delay. There were performed additional maintenance and repair works to the value of 8.48 million lei, based on the incomes obtained from imposing fines on carriers.
In the same meeting, there were presented reports on the use of the Energy Efficiency Fund, the Agriculture Subsidization Fund, the National Fund for Regional Development, and the National Ecological Fund. A sum of 2.05 billion lei was allocated from the state budget in 2012 to the given funds that Prime Minister Vlad Filat named development funds.
The allocations for 2013 total 2.3 billion lei. Vlad Filat asked those that manage these funds to ensure efficient communication between them so that the projects produce the expected results.
