Road repair and water supply rehabilitation projects to be financed from national regional development fund
More than 130 project proposals have been presented by the local public authorities for being financed from the national regional development fund. More than half of them are projects to rehabilitate or build water and sewerage systems and repair the roads, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development.
Fifteen of the 135 projects concern the diversification of the economy and support for the private sector, in particular the creation of business incubators and industrial parks. Another 38 projects are aimed at protecting the environment and improving tourism attractiveness by promoting tourist routes and developing efficient waste management.
The project proposals will be selected by members of the regional development councils and will be then approved by the National Council for Regional Development Coordination.
The Ministry of Construction and Regional Development on May 10 called on the local public authorities to submit, within a month, project proposals in such areas as rehabilitation of the infrastructure, diversification of the economy, support for the private sector, environment protection and improvement of tourism attractiveness. The national regional development fund this year is about 135 million lei.
