Roma students from high schools, technical vocational and higher education institutions have the opportunity to apply for the merit scholarships program. For the 2024-2025 academic year, scholarships of 1,200 lei per month will be awarded, IPN reports, with reference to the Interethnic Relations Agency.
For high school education, 60 scholarships are provided, for secondary technical education – 15 scholarships, for post-secondary technical education – 20 scholarships and for higher education – 25 scholarships. Students aged between 16 and 25, who do not receive scholarships from the state budget, can register for the competition.
Scholars will be selected based on such criteria as the grades’ average, letters of intent, letters of recommendation. Applications must be submitted by October 4 inclusive. The regulations on the method and conditions for awarding scholarships are available on the Agency’s website.
