Romania offers new scholarships for Moldovan students and researchers
The Romanian government offers Eugene Ionesco scholarships for doctoral candidates and researchers from francophone countries, including Moldova. According to a press release of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, the scholarships are meant to help those who want to study or develop research projects in Romanian universities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The stipend duration can be from 3 to 10 months, depending on the largeness of the studied subject or of the research. The selection criteria will be the scientific quality, the suitability of the application for the development of its home country and for the progress of research in Romanian universities.
Since 2007, 188 doctoral candidates and researchers from 19 countries, including Albania, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, the Central African Republic, DR Congo, Egypt, Georgia, Guinea, Lebanon, Madagascar, Morocco, Mauritania, Moldova (31), Senegal, Chad, Togo, and Vietnam have benefited from scholarships.
The program is run by the Romanian Foreign Minister and the University Francophone Agency, having an annual budget of 1 million euros.
